User complains that Candy is slow
Starting candy, coy to job, going into a job, doc to doc, alt tab, export to excel?
This machine only, or are there others in office that have same problem. Get support info from a user with similar experience, and from a user that has a better experience.
If My Documents is redirected then look for:
a. Work offline folder or any synchronize tool
b. Network is not a LAN (WAN or VPN)
c. LAN or server is intermittently is slow or overloaded
In these cases:
a. Make sure that the DATA folder is not in My Documents
b. MY CCS must be moved out of MY DOCUMENTS see http://www.candytech.co.uk/knowledgebase/how_to/my_ccs_redirect.htm
If Licence folder or Data folder are mapped to a server over a network that is not a LAN ie a WAN or VPN then they must be moved to the local machine.
If the Candy system files are located on a server that is slow or accessed via a WAN or VPN then Candy must be installed on the local machine.
Note also that if pricing activities are slow check that the MASTER is not mapped to a network drive. If it is ty setting Candy to NO MASTER – if things improve then copy master job to the local machine.
Net speed (10, 100, 1gig)
Server (linux, 2000, 2003, 2008)?
Offline tools? (ms sync?)
Citrix, MS Virtual Desktop, VMWare?
Look in the CCIS System info for low memory.
Free hdd space (on c: and drive that data is at)
Make sure that this is a dedicated FILE SERVER. In other words, if it is a SQL or Application server then file access performance will be degraded.
Check that the antivirus is not doing a daily full disk scan.
To find which virus checker is installed
Try excluding Candy data from real time protection.
Try setting check on write only
